Mr. Marras was born in Alghero, Italy in 1961. Antonio was surrounded by fashion as a result of his father owning several fashion boutiques. Marras did not have a formal fashion education but was so good that an entrepreneur recognized his skills and invested in his ready to wear venture. Shortly, after this investment Antonio made his first collection in 1987.
Marras really started to gain momentum in 1996 as a result of having another fashion show in Rome and presenting a collection in Milan for the first time. After this milestone the accolades began to pour for Marras and in 2001 won the Francesca Alinovi award in Bologna. Women’s fashion was not the only focal point for Antonio and in 2002 showed his first men’s collection at Pitti Immagine Uomo and after this became a regular presence at the Milan fashion shows.
LVMH recognized his talents and he was named Creative Director of Kenzo, a position he held until 2011. Mr. Marras is known for fusing fashion, history and culture into a well-pleasing and fabulous fashion collection.
