It’s like that, the Spring 2012 collection of Cleo B finds inspiration from 80s hip-hop specifically rap supergroup RUN-DMC. Ms. Barbour came up with the idea for this collection when she came across a magazine tear of a pink cassette tape set against a bright yellow background. The collection is filled with imagery from that time period-pop colors, gold cassette tape clips and musical notes. Also, the name of some of the heels pays tribute to this time period such as the 1983 heel, the year RUN-DMC’s It’s like that/Sucker M.C’s was released. Cleo always comes up with a unique perspective every season and this enables her to always create shoes that are like no other in the marketplace. Looking at this collection brings back childhood memories of my time in Hollis, Queens.
