Last week I was watching Glory Daze, the documentary about Michael Alig and the Club Kids dominance of the nightclub scene during the 90s. After watching it I came across the sneaker from Gucci’s 2017 Cruise that would fit right in during those times and would be perfect accoutrement during a night of debauchery at the Limelight.
Creative Director Alessandro Michele also looked to Britain for inspiration. The Victorian age’s influence can be seen by the decision of Michele to include a granny boot with floral designs to the collection. Also, the Mod movement makes an appearance via the pink mule and its fringe detail.
