After sharing one of Mr. Schwartz’s designs on LinkedIn I decided to do an article about the man and his designs. Mark Schwartz is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience. Schwartz is an F.I.T graduate and got his start in the industry working with Roger Vivier. After two years at the label Schwartz became Creative Director and assisted Mr. Vivier in creating his iconic designs. During his time at Roger Vivier Mark was introduced to Andy Warhol who became a mentor to him and encouraged him to paint his shoe designs.
Most likely one of your favorite shoes was designed by Mr. Schwartz as he has created shoes for Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Tina Turner and Jennifer Lopez. In addition, to creating custom shoes for his celebrity clientele Mark also created shoes for Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Gucci and department stores Neiman Marcus, Barneys, Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman.
In addition, to designing shoes and creating shoe inspired artwork Schwartz recently started a Footwear design school in Parabiago, Italy. Classes will begin on January 2017 and each class will be limited to six to seven students. To get more information please go to the website.
Without further adieu here are some styles from Mark-
