This shoe is from Lanvin’s Spring/Summer ’09 collection. The House of Lanvin was started in 1909 by Jeanne Lanvin after the clothes that she made for her daughter started to attract the attention of the Parisian upper class. Mrs. Lanvin also joined the Syndicat de la Couture which officially made her a couturiere. Jeanne Lanvin went on to become one of the most influential designers of the 20s and 30s and controlled the house until her death in 1946. Today the artistic direction of the company is decided by Alber Elbaz who joined the company in October 2001.
