Preston Zly is a partnership between shoemaker/designer Johanna Preston and scultptor Petr Zly. The company was started in 1993 when Petr suggested to Johanna to create her own shoes after complaining about an ill-fitting pair that she received. Ms. Preston studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology under Master Shoemaker George Koleff of Bulgaria. Preston Zly creates shoes out of eclectic materials such as paper, copper, plastic and straw while continually pushing the envelope in terms of silhouettes and shoemaking techniques. Today the company produces 700 shoes per year and is sold in independent boutiques worldwide. To see more styles please go to www.prestonzlydesign.com.
