Rene Caovilla Spring’11




Rene Caovilla’s path into shoemaking began with his father, Edoardo who was a student of famous shoe industrialist Luigi Voltan. During the 50s Rene studied shoe design in Paris & London. After completing his studies he began to work for his father learning the shoe industry from the bottom up. In the 1960s Mr. Coavilla took over the family business and really began to make his presence felt by creating opulent, sensual evening shoes. Caovilla began collaborating with Valentino Garavani for twenty years which culminated with the Valentino by Rene Caovilla shoe line. After this partnership ended, Rene began to work with John Galliano for Christian Dior from 1990-1995 creating lovely, fairy-tale inspired heels. Chanel became the next fashion house to use Caovilla’s talents and this collaboration lasted from 1995-2000. Today, Rene Caovilla has salon boutiques in Milan, Rome, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo and Beverly Hills.

Coavilla ha rilevato l’azienda di famiglia e realmente ha cominciato a fare sentire la sua presenza attraverso la creazione di opulento, scarpe da sera sensuale. Caovilla inizia la collaborazione con Valentino Garavani per venti anni, che culminò con la Valentino con la linea di scarpe Rene Caovilla. Dopo aver concluso questa partnership, Rene cominciò a lavorare con John Galliano per Christian Dior from 1990-1995 la creazione di bello, da favola tacchi ispirato. Chanel divenne la casa di moda vicino ad utilizzare Caovilla talenti e questa collaborazione è durata dal 1995-2000. Oggi, Rene Caovilla ha salone boutique a Milano, Roma, Parigi, Dubai, Tokyo e Beverly Hills.

    I caught a glimpse of these at the Neiman Marcus at Bal Harbour shops- they are so gorgeous, they stop you dead in your tracks! This collection is definitely fashion forward and just what the fashionistas ordered.
