On view from February 8, 2013 to April 13, 2013 will be about 150 pairs of exquisite footwear at the Museum at F.I.T. The exhibit is called Shoe Obsession and will feature shoes from Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Roger Vivier, Pierre Hardy, Nicholas Kirkwood, Alexandre Birman, Aperlai, Noritaka Tatehana, Andreia Chaves and Gucci.
Shoe Obsession also will showcase shoes from the private collections of Saudi Arabian princess and boutique owner Deena Al-juhani Abdulaziz, jewelry designer Lynn Ban, Baroness Monica von Neumann and socialite Daphne Guinness.
Dr. Valerie Steele who is the director and chief curator of The Museum at F.I.T co-curated the exhibit with Colleen Hill, associate curator of accessories and Fred Dennis, senior curator of costume.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a book, also titled Shoe Obsession, published by Yale University Press. This book will have more than 150 color photographs and royalties from the sale of the book will benefit the Fashion Institute of Technology.
