After watching the Ultimate Fighter I decided to do a story on Stefano’s 2016 Spring collection. Mr. Maroni is from Milan and studied finance at the London School of Economics. Stefano put his academic studies and experience working at his father’s leather goods factory to use at Bruno Magli and Ben Sherman.
Anyone with a legitimate entrepreneurial streak will not just be content working for someone else so Maroni decided to launch his eponymous line for Spring 2016. The inspiration for the label mostly comes from contemporary art and Stefano’s travels as well as his sailing exploits. In order to makes his shoes stand out bold prints, artisan finishing techniques and novel silhouettes are continuously used.
According to Mr. Maroni the African continent is one of the inspirations for 2016 Spring and this is shown by the use of lush colors and animal prints. Also, the architecture stylings of Saarinen and Calatrava can be seen in the concentric heels used on the fourth shoe in this article. I am very pleased to write about this collection and I cannot wait to see more future styles from Stefano Maroni.
